Babymoon Scheduled

Babymoon
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Babymoon has several meanings. The original meaning is a period of time that parents spend bonding with a recently-born baby.
More recently the term has come to be used to describe a vacation taken by a couple that is expecting a baby in order to allow the couple to enjoy a final trip together before the many sleepless nights that usually accompany a newborn baby. Babymoons usually take place at a resort that offers appropriate services like prenatal massage.
Babymoon can also be used for a trip taken by a couple even before they get pregnant. As long as the trip is intended to be a final romantic fling before venturing into parenthood, the term babymoon applies.
The term babymoon comes from the more traditional term honeymoon, which is a vacation taken by a newlywed couple after their wedding ceremony.

So maybe ours should be called a Toddlermoon, and I won't need a prenatal massage...although I would glady take a swedish, or sports massage!  We are knocking off another item on the bucket list..to drive the length of he Florida Keys in a convertible.  I found cheap airfare to Ft Lauderdale, and have reserved a mustang for the drive!  So if I am humming a lot of Jimmy Buffet tunes later this Summer you will know I am getting ready for our last get away until the big trip to China.

If you have spent any time down there, we welcome your suggestions!

How incredibly exciting! Congrats, best wishes & travelling mercies! I lived in Key West for 6 years. It was wonderful. I am sure it is very different now, but snorkling on the reef was wonderful... Down to Mallory square each night for the show: the sunset as well as the locals, sweet jasmine & frangipani in the air as i rode my bike, great local musicians & artists... The very best cuban coffee, bread, black beans & conch fritters as well as real key lime pie! Wishing you the best of times & looking forward to the photos & blog posts! B

All of this terminology is new to me, but it sounds like a fantastic idea... hey, any time away is time to grab now, while you can. You'll have a blast. I've never been to the keys, but have a piece of pie for me. ;)

For DH & me, Key West means nights in the Hogsbreath Saloon for cold beer, hot music and dancing and mornings at Blue Heaven! Do not fail to order the fresh squeezed orange juice at Blue Heaven and give the chickens a big hello from me.

Ditto Laura. Hogsbreath and shooters are a must. The trip down the Keys and then time spend in Key West will be great. Key West is one of my favorite tropical getaways without having to have a passport.
Book it now!
