Looks Who's 7

We celebrated Buddy's birthday last night at Cracker Barrel. He loaded up on pancakes and received several new Leggos kits and games. He even got a homework pass from his teacher....I don't think I even had nightly homework in the first grade!

I Miss You

Its been way too long since we have enjoyed an outing together. The forecast doesn't bode well for this weekend either. But soon enough the days will be long and hot and we will hit the trails.

My Favorite Girl Scout Cookie

Just when I had eaten all my cookies from the local scouts...the ones I ordered from my neice came in. I guess because the different troops around the country use different bakers (and to minimize their peaks) not every troop delivers cookies at the same time. These are my favorite, the Do-Si-Dos. I could eat a whole sleeve with a Latte in the morning if I wasn't careful. Good thing its time to get out and hike and bike more!

Indooor Climbing

Here is my college roomate's youngest daughter ready to climb the rock wall. They were in town Saturday...one of her sisters was playing in a volleyball tournament, the other practicing at the gym where the gymnastics state finals will be held next weekend. She lit up when I offered to take her to meet the ski club for an indoor climbing adventure instead of sitting around the gym. She was a little afraid of the height, but on her second attempt made it all the way to the top. There are three routes (all taking you up about 40 feet) I made it about half way up the medium difficulty route and couldn't figure out how to get any higher. Go Postal was the first to climb to the top. Then before we left he tried the most difficult route, it actually slopes out so it takes more skill/strength for sure. Here is his reaching the top.

New Haircuts

I probably took 7 pictures last night trying to get these guys spiffy haircuts...it just cant be done. One of them is always wiggling. It probably doesn't help they were munching on suckers (maybe this is how their hairdresser gets them to stay still)

Chocolate for Baby!

Lila is expecting baby girl #2 in a few weeks so she made a road trip to get in a little "girls weekend" time before the big event. After dinner, we had a chocolate lovers dessert..homeade brownie, layered with chocolate/vanilla checked ice cream, a homeade chocolate chip cookie (special dark chips) covered in Hershey's syrup. I couldn't finish mine...but I don't like chocolate all that much. She and Baby loved theirs. Wonder if the baby slept at all that night with such a sugar rush? Sofia will soon be a big sister, but at just 22 months she may not embrace the idea just yet. She and her sister will be almost exactly the same age apart as Kim and I. Glad we got this time together!!

Back On Line!

In between sewing my $5 block (with a friend who is learning to quilt from square one) I set up my new home computer. So far it has worked flawlessly, finding the proper drivers for the printer and connecting to the internet. The only sad thing is that my 8 year old curved keyboard doesn't have a USB end...so I can't use it on this new box. How sad. I love the curved key board, I also use one at work and it helps me type more accurately and is less fatigue on my wrists. But for now...I am back online at home. Too bad its bedtime...I have facebook friend invitations to accept, party photos to upload and all kinds of catching up to do.
So here is Go Postal and I at the 80's party....we had a lot of fun and I know little sister will not soon forget her Dad and both Sisters out on the dance floor ushering in her 4oth.

No Snow Day for Me

We probably had about 5" of snow at my house last night...and I had just filled the bird feeder before leaving this weekend. I came in a little tardy so I could enjoy all the colorful birds against this pretty back drop. The new computer is in but I have to pick it up at the Fed Ex depot...so maybe soon I can share pictures of this weekend's 80's dance party.

So no snow day for me, but at least I have a pretty view from the office window (a little less impressive than the real thing due to my camera phone shooting this through glass, but you get the idea)
