Afternoon Pause

The pollen abounds in NC right now, but I do think the dogwoods and azaleas are extra pretty this year. I guess all the rain we have had so far this Spring has really helped. I needed to drop something off to Mrs Goodneedle this afternoon and beat her home by a few minutes. It was a great opportunity to sit and be still for five minutes. While sitting outside her sewing room I saw:
*Gold Finch (if you enlarge the photo you will see them on the yellow bar of the thistle feeder)
*Hummingbird
*Dove
*Cardinal
*Blue Jay
*Tufted Titmouse (I think)
*Wren making a nest
and heard....
*Woodpecker
*Rooster (from somewhere across the field)

What a nice break from the white noise they blast over my pod in the office. This weekend is supposed to be wonderful...hope you can get outside and listen a little too!

Unfortunately my delay caused you to have to wait long than five minutes! Glad you found the same peace we always do when we sit out there... thanks for letting me know who's nesting in the Bluebird's box!

Mr. and Mrs. G have a nice slice of heaven out there. I bet it was nice to be still and watch for a while. I'm looking forward to a little of that this weekend myself!

Most of my family doesn't my love for quiet....It's so peaceful and I can think whatever my heart desires, with no interruptions. Don't get me wrong, I love my family's chitter, chatter also, but sometimes just let my world be quiet!Looks like Mr.& Mrs. G have the perfect place.
