New Chapter Starting

Tomorrow starts a new chapter for me. I was one month shy of 19 years at Hanes...the only job I have had since graduating college and now its over. But its strange I am not sad, hurt or angry...maybe that will hit later. It has not been a real fun place to work for the last few years and I am blessed to have a good severance plan and education. Don't know what the next chapter will be for me, but I am ready to turn the page and find a little passion for work again. I know there will be others affected tomorrow that will not be as lucky as I have been, and my prayers go out for them and their families.

So let the networking begin....(after I mow, plant the impatiens in the driveway, finish a Relay for Life video, and pack for my quilt retreat this weekend) So if you know someplace that could use an Industrial Engineer with an MBA (my little sisters refer to this degress as my "Master of Bossing All") let me know!

I am glad we cant just flip to the end and see how the story ends...it is much more meaningful to take it chapter by chapter just as the "Author" has planned.

Well said. God won't close any door without opening a window. Sending you hugs of reassurance as you turn this next page, you can come and sit on my side porch anytime.

Hey-Good outlook! And you will be so much happier in the next chapter...trust me!! Hope you got a good package! You were the first person on my mind when I got the "news flash" yesterday afternoon about HBI.

It is tempting to want to read ahead...you're right to let it unfold a page at a time. Here's to good things out in front!

My thoughts and prayers are with you!! And we will talk soon! You have extraordinary expertise in education and work/life experience, your future is bright! I have been where you are and if I could do it all over again..... it would be to trust that you will be fine, the future will be great and so you should ENJOY this "unexpected" gift of time! Take time to heal, work for your future and enjoy your time "off"!! Oh yeah and have some really great ice cream!!

There is something great around the corner for you, I just know it. You've had to put up with so much in the past few years with your job including the anticipation of the ax falling. It has finally come and now the new adventure begins. Enjoy the time off. The Lord will provide.

So sorry to hear that. It was a scary week for us too because my hubby is a manager. He had to lay off someone in his group and he didn't know until Friday for sure if he got to keep his job which he did. God has a plan for us all and hopefully the next place he puts you in will bring fun and happiness.
